Today you board VIA Rail for your train journey to Quebec City. If this is your first visit to Quebec City be warned, you will want to come back again and again. To put it in perspective, take everything that you love about Paris and Rome plus the charm of Mackinac Island and that comes close to what Quebec City is like. It seems that everything you want to do or see is within easy walking distance. The charm of the streets and buildings in the Petit Champlain is reason enough to visit, but the shops offer items that are unique to Quebec. Many things are designed and made right in the shops. Horse drawn carriages, sidewalk cafe's, street entertainers, brightly colored buildings, flowers and a warm welcome all add to your enjoyment of this wonderful city. We have included a city sightseeing tour, so you will visit the cities major sightseeing attractions and learn of her fascinating history. You may be surprised to discover that the Plains of Abraham while rich in historic significance may be just the place for a picnic lunch or a bike ride. This vast area now set aside as a park is a treasure. Visit the Latin Quarter, the Ramparts, the National Assembly, Basilica, City Hall, Place Royal and the Citadelle.
